This is a partial bibliography of useful published works. Some I have used in researching these essays. Others I have not used specifically in these essays, but have found enlightening, useful, or just interesting historical reading. In developing the essays on this site my first task when considering the use of a source is to determine as best I can to what degree, if any, does the author have established and demonstrable partisan or ideological predispositions or connections. I will not use a source for whom such affiliations exist.
